MIG LINUX SMS Edition
SMS Server for Linux . SMS applications for Linux. Use your Linux Platform to send and receive SMS's
Introduction
For over 5 years MIG has produced software for the MS Windows platform, much success has come from these products over the years. But now, SMS gateways are coming through to the Linux Platform.
MONO Project
Over the past few months we have been investigating ways of bringing the power of the .NET platform to the Linux community, and as time went by, we found that there was a project that addresses this. MIG has come out with a means to allow C# programs to run on the following platforms:
In order for any of our products to work, Mono would have to be installed on the machine concerned; we are biased towards Redhat/Fedora Core and Suse since we will be including RPM Packages in our program file list. Any executable produced by MIG will need no further compiling, they will run from the directory given (e.g. mono user/customfolder/mig_exectable.exe). From this point on its up to the system administrator if they want to fork the process or not (making the program run in the background).
Remote SMS
Providing an easy to use means to send and receive bulk short messages, this product series has over the years proven to be a product of choice. Through the success of the Mono project, we have produced the Cross Platform version of our best selling product.
Installation is simple
After making sure that mono has been successfully installed on your distribution, installing any product from MIG is as simple as extracting a ZIP file to a specific directory.
Operation
The Cross Platform version of Remote SMS will not depend on support for multiple databases in order to work. What it will do as an alternative is use the native file system in its running directory as a means to store information. Coupled with the power of XML, Remote SMS will make the most out of the power afforded by open platforms. Further steps : Since Remote SMS will use XML and the native file system as its database, Linux developers and users can take advantage of our products, a simple action as dropping a file formatted in a specific way in one of its directories, you can have an SMS sent. Statuses of sent messages are reported through a single XML file in one of the program directories.
All above allows Full TWO way comunication to ALL 4 South African Mobile Operators MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and Virgin Mobile.
